View all search resultsJakarta welcomes the World of Barbie, an immersive exhibition where visitors can trace the doll’s 65-year journey, from her modest 1962 Dreamhouse to her interstellar adventures, while stepping into life-sized sets that blend nostalgia, play and imagination.
The exhibition, held beside the Plataran Arca at the National Museum, transforms a 450-square-meter hall into an enchanting bamboo forest, with shadowy corridors and rows of bamboo poles evoking a mythical labyrinth.
The exhibition takes its title from one of the collaborative sculptures, which depicts three characters working together in a "panjat pinang" competition as it represents the Indonesian spirit of "gotong royong".
