View all search resultsThe confirmation hearing for 24 names submitted by President Prabowo Subianto for various Indonesian ambassadorial posts abroad will be carried out behind closed doors over the weekend, according to a member of House Commission I overseeing foreign affairs.
The House is set to launch confirmation hearings on Monday to whittle down 20 final candidates, 10 each for the KPK leadership and the KPK supervisory council from a short list compiled by ex-president Jokowi, to five each to lead the Prabowo administration's fight against corruption.
Jokowi submitted to the House the names of 31 ambassadorial candidates last month, most of whom are career diplomats from the Foreign Ministry and some are political appointees, including the President's supporter during his reelection campaign last year.
