View all search resultsIn conservation, it’s easy to get so caught up looking at issues in silos that we can’t see the forest for the trees. Similarly, when it comes to oceans, we rarely look beyond marine ecosystems, and often fail to see that what happens on land doesn’t stay on land.
This week, the Indonesian government hosts the fifth Our Ocean Conference in Bali ( OOC18 ). This meeting gathers leaders in government, conservation and industry from across the globe to generate commitments and actions to maintain the sustainability of our oceans.
Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Susi Pudjiastuti shared with The Jakarta Post’s Gemma Holliani Cahya, Ina Parlina, M. Taufiqurrahman and Kornelius Purba the Indonesian government’s agenda for the conference, which runs until Tuesday.
