Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung’s recent initiative to expand intercity bus routes under the Transjabodetabek network has been positively received by the public, although some commuters have called for improved connectivity between their homes and transportation hubs such as bus stops and train stations.
The Jakarta administration, in collaboration with its Banten counterpart, has officially launched a new Transjabodetabek bus route connecting South Jakarta’s business and shopping hub, Blok M, with the Alam Sutera township in Tangerang to boost usage of public transportation across the Greater Jakarta area.
The Jakarta administration regrets the decision by the management of the Kota Wisata housing complex in Cibubur, Bogor Regency, West Java, to halt the expansion of the Tranjabodetabek bus service to the area, while promising to find new alternative routes to improve connectivity between the capital and its surrounding buffer zones.
The Greater Jakarta Transportation Agency (BPTJ) has approved the expansion of the Transjabodetabek bus network to include five new routes connecting Jakarta with its neighboring cities, as requested by newly installed Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung.
