ive trekkers have reportedly gone astray at Mt. Merbabu in Boyolali, Central Java, after climbing through Selo track starting at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
The five missing trekkers were identified as Danang, Ahmad, Rizky, Wajyu and Mughni, according to Sugito, an officer of Mt. Merbabu base camp.
Information about their being at a lost was received after Rizky contacted one of his friends in Boyolali, asking for help.
Rizky also said they decided to set up a tent after they were in exhaustion and coldness amid the fact they were in short of logistics.
A search and rescue team had been deployed on Thursday night in search for the missing trekkers. (hhr)
