outh Jakarta's Population and Civil Registry Agency head Sapto B. Wibowo has called on residents in the municipality to report to community or neighborhood unit heads if they plan to leave the city for the upcoming Idul Fitri holiday.
'They should tell the heads how long their houses will be empty during Idul Fitri,' Sapto said on Friday as quoted by beritajakarta.com.
Sapto said the report would help community unit officials identify empty houses, and be alert around them.
'It will also help neighbors guard the neighborhood, as is their communal responsibility,' he said, adding that neighbors should watch out for fires breaking out in empty houses, as well as burglaries.
