The rupiah is expected to hover around Rp 16,000 per US dollar this year from its initial projection of Rp 14,400 per US dollar.
The Jakarta Post has compiled a list of funds allocated by the government for medical needs, workers, households and businesses to cope with COVID-19, based on information from the Office of the Coordinating Economic Minister and the Finance Ministry as of March 30.
Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said that the 2020 state budget would focus on human capital and social security development, infrastructure development, fiscal incentives for research and development, village and regional funds procurement and the strengthening of university endowments.
The target will be used as the baseline for next year’s state budget proposal, alongside other macroeconomic assumptions, which include a 3.1 percent inflation rate, Rp 13,900 to Rp 14,400 per US dollar exchange rate and 5.4 percent three-month treasury bill rate.
