World Bank projects higher growth for Indonesia, calls for better spending
Effective spending along with reform in fiscal policy and the investment climate will help Indonesia grow its economy by 5.3 percent this year, according to a new World Bank report. The estimation is higher than the government's estimate of 5.1 percent.

IMF boosts growth forecast for US, cites Trump impact
The International Monetary Fund on Monday raised its forecast for the US economy over the next two years, saying President-elect Donald Trump's policies should boost economic growth, particularly in 2018. But officials warned that if Trump's protectionist trade proposals set off a trade war, that could be "quite destructive" for the global economy.
