View all search resultsThe decline in poverty to a single-digit rate was one of the biggest achievements of the Indonesian government in 2018. Based on Statistics Indonesia data, the proportion of people living in poverty as of September 2018 was 9.66 percent, down from 10.12 percent a year earlier.
National Development Planning Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro has said the distribution of social assistance at the right time had helped decrease the poverty rate to 9.82 percent in May, the lowest poverty rate the country has ever recorded.
