People love to share — or show off — happy moments on their social media accounts, including their children’s activities, even while they are underage. Their intention may only be to share the children they adore with the world. However, they may not realize the hidden threat of oversharing their children’s pictures.
Research from Chatfield and Brajawidagda published in 2012 stated that government agencies responsible for emergency and disaster services used social media for early warnings and clarifying often alarming misinformation. This function would cease to exist if the internet is blocked.
The Communications and Information Ministry and the police have been monitoring social media and its users for posts that violate the 2016 Electronic Information and Transactions Law.
