View all search resultsJakarta may have a long road to becoming the global city it aims to be after it loses its state capital status, but the 2024 general election could bring the city new opportunities, a recent discussion has concluded.
Construction work in the new capital will pressure a fragile physical and socioeconomic environment as land is cleared for new office buildings, homes and the infrastructure needed for a modern national government.
"We're all looking into all possibilities. Staging events for big brands like F1 Power Boat is not easy. We also want to stage Formula One here. Probably next year," President Jokowi said, referring to the Formula 1 Powerboat race event on Lake Toba, which wrapped up over the weekend.
