The suspects are facing a number of charges, notably "taking part in illegal rallies and marches" and "failing to disperse despite police warnings"; offences that could carry between six months to four years behind bars.
The spat between Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and his former party the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) heated up once again, with the two trading barbs over a corruption case implicating party secretary-general Hasto Kristiyanto.
