A series of violent crimes has prompted South Korea to issue a travel warning for Bali. In a “Notice on Preventing Serious Crime” issued on April 1, South Korean authorities urged citizens to “pay closer attention to their personal safety” when visiting the island.
According to police, the incident occurred in October last year when a relative and neighbor, Indra Putra Bangun, visited LB’s family home and accused her father, identified only as JIB, of purchasing palm oil allegedly stolen from his plantation. The confrontation escalated into a physical altercation, during which LB allegedly intervened by scratching and biting Indra.
Various sizes of gas canisters to contain nitrous oxide were found to be allegedly stored in and distributed from a rental house in West Jakarta, which the food monitoring agency said was not fulfilling the food and drug manufacturing standards.
Acting on tips from the public, the Riau Islands Police have solved three separate cases of theft targeting municipal equipment, netting six suspects and two fences, with one suspect still at large, who face maximum sentences of between four and seven years if convicted.
